RECEIVING THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS

ACTS 26:15-18 (NLT) …“And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting. Now get to your feet! For I have appeared to you to appoint you as my servant and witness.…Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people…

The forgiveness of all our sins is not something that God is going to do; it is something that God has done already. In Colossians 1:14, the Bible tells us that in Christ we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins. Forgiveness of sins is something we have already. It is very important that we know what the forgiveness of our sins is tied to. The only reason why God has forgiven us all our sins is because of what Jesus did on the Cross. God does not forgive us because we repent or because we deserve His forgiveness. God has forgiven us because He loves us and He sent Jesus to die for our sins. It was while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us, (Rom.5:8). God has already granted us the forgiveness of sins through Christ. Like we see in our text above, all we do is to receive it.

All that God wants us to do is to freely receive the forgiveness of our sins. God never remembers our sins (Isa.43:25, Jer.31:34, Heb.8:12). If He chooses to count iniquity no one will stand, (Psa.130:3-4). If we sin, God wants us to receive His forgiveness that Jesus has provided for us, (1John 2:1-2). The reason we repent is to renew our minds and be transformed inwardly (Rom.12:2) so we can walk in the new life and nature God has given us. We repent by declaring and reminding ourselves of the new life and nature God has given us.

PRAYER:
Father, I thank you that because of Christ all my sins are forgiven. I believe and I receive the forgiveness of all my sins
