Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in … your love, faith… *We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you. For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all God’s people. *Every time we pray for you our hearts overflow with thanksgiving to Father God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your devoted lives of faith in Christ Jesus and your tender love toward all his holy believers.

One major reason why there was so much faith and love in the early church was because of the way the simple and pure gospel of Christ was preached unto them. Today, there is so much wrong teachings existing in the Body of Christ and it is affecting the faith and love of many believers. In 1Timothy 1:3-4, Apostle Paul was admonishing Timothy to stay back in Ephesus to stop false teachers from spreading doctrines that do not build the faith of believers in Christ. In verse 5 (GNB), he said, “What I am eager for is that all the Christians there will be filled with love that comes from pure hearts, and that their minds will be clean and their faith strong.” Pure and genuine faith is that faith that is based on Christ alone. When we add anything to Christ we corrupt and weaken our faith. In Galatians 2:20, Apostle Paul said it was by the faith of Christ that he was living his life.

Our faith is based on the abundant love and grace of God available for us in Christ. The love of God strengthens our faith and fuels our love for both Him and others. Be fervent in spirit and in love, (1Pet.4:8, Rom. 12:10-13). Use and exercise your faith and it will grow. Do not stagger at the word or promises of God. Remain strong in faith by praising God in anticipation of the manifestation of His word and promises to you, (Rom. 4:20). Pray in the Spirit and build up your faith, (Jude 20). Let the revelation of Christ dwell in you richly, (Col.3:16). “Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave, be strong. Do all your work in love. Follow good examples” (1Cor. 16:13-14, GNB). “Be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises, (Heb. 6:12). Use your faith to strengthen and help others, (Rom. 15:1).

Prayer:
Dear Father, please help me to put my faith in Christ alone and help me to reflect the love of Christ to others. Fill me with the revelation of Christ.
