REFLECTING THE LOVE OF CHRIST’S CROSS

1JOHN 3:15-17 (NIV) Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

In what way is your life reflecting the love Christ showed on the Cross? Both the world; as well as fellow believers are desperately in need of experiencing the same love Christ showed on the Cross from your life. Jesus said, “I love you just as the Father loves me; remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you,” (John 15:9-12, GNB).

Keep filling yourself with the revelation of all Christ did for you on the Cross till it begins to influence you; especially in the way you relate to people. Humble yourself and reflect on the love of Christ. Jesus humbled Himself to wash the feet of His disciples and He encouraged them to wash each other’s feet, (John 13:14-15). Be patient, be kind, don’t be jealous, conceited or proud, don’t be selfish, don’t keep records of wrongs, don’t rejoice when bad things happen to others, don’t accept anything but the truth, and never give up, (1Cor.13:4-7, GNB).

Let your love for people be unconditional. Jesus didn’t love us because we were perfect. He loved us even while we were yet sinners. He loved us as an expression and reflection of God’s love. You can do the same.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, please help me continually express your love to others, just as Christ expressed your love to me on the Cross
