Rejoice in Christ

Ephesians 1:3, Colossians 2:6-7 (AMPC)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. *As you have therefore received Christ,… Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (…) in union with and conformity to Him. Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving.

God wants us to always praise and thank Him deeply for the physical and material things He does in our lives. However, there is no physical or material thing that God will ever do for us that will compare with all of the wondrous and glorious things that He has done for us through Christ. This therefore means that we should praise and thank God for the things He has done for us in Christ, much more than we praise and thank God for anything else in our lives. The things that God has done for us in Christ are so much that we cannot fully understand or exhaust them (Eph.3:8). The love God has shown us in Christ is too long, too high, too wide and too deep to be fully understood (Eph.3:18-19). God wants our rejoicing in Christ to be elaborate. Much more than we do for material things, God wants us to be specific, to shout, rejoice, sing new songs, be glad and talk a lot about every single thing that He has done for us through Christ. He wants us to look at the things He has done for us in Christ from different dimensions and use them to talk about His nature and character.

Rejoicing in Christ requires faith and it strengthens our faith. It makes us deeply rooted in the consciousness of the things Christ has done for us and it activates the manifestation of those things in our lives. Rejoicing in Christ is the major key to our giving thanks always, in all things and for all things. For example, when you feel sick in your body, God does not want you to thank Him that you are sick. He wants you to thank Him that in Christ you are healed already. Jesus said, “Abraham rejoiced to see my day” (John 8:56). This is what strengthened Abraham’s faith as he held on to the promises of God.

Action Point:
Mention various things that God has done for you in Christ and by faith, sing, shout, rejoice and dance about them. See them as your reality.
