REJOICE THAT YOU ARE FORGIVEN AND HEALED

PSALMS 103:1-3 (TPT)

With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me? You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done. You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease.

It is very important that we are always conscious of the benefits of Christ’s Lordship. We must know them deeply in our hearts; and not just in our heads, and we must always rejoice about them.

Your forgiveness and healing are two major benefits that Jesus obtained for you through His death, burial, and resurrection. When Isaiah predicted the consequences of Christ’s death, he did not say, “He will be wounded for our transgressions… and by His stripes we shall be healed.” No. Though Christ’s death had not yet manifested physically, it was already done and settled in God’s eyes, as Isaiah stated, “He was wounded for our transgressions… and by His stripes we are healed” (Isa.53:5). If Isaiah could say this before Jesus physically died, what should you and I say now that Jesus has died, been buried, and risen again? This is why, according to Peter, “Christ himself bore our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness.” You have been healed because of his wounds,” (1Pet.2:24, GNB). The past tense! While Jesus was atoning for our sins, He was also atoning for our illnesses and diseases.

As Peter points out, our sins have not only been forgiven, but we have also died to sin. We are no longer sinners, but new creatures with God’s life and nature.

PRAYER:
Dear Father, I rejoice and thank you that all my sins have been forgiven and I have been healed of all my infirmities because of the Cross.
