Memorise: He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. Proverbs 29:1

READ: Proverbs 15:31-33

31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 21-22; John 3:1-21

MESSAGE:

It is a bad thing to be stubborn. Have you heard the phrase ‘stubborn goat‘ before? It originated from a goat actions of always returning to a place no matter how many times you chase it from there. If you have been corrected over and over again for something, yet you keep doing that thing, you can be likened to a stubborn goat. Today’s memory verse tells us that when you have been corrected many times for something and you don’t change, then destruction is on the way. Do you want to be destroyed? If no, you better change immediately.

Have your parents been warning you about hanging out with a particular friend or disapproving your visits to certain places? Whatever it is that you have been corrected for over and over is not worth your life and destiny. A word is enough for the wise.

Reflection:
Do you take corrections and act in them immediately or question them?

Hymn 3:

1.When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2.Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3.Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5.Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
