REST IN HIS WORD

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” Luke 5:5-6 KJV

When you read the account of Peter in Luke chapter 5, you will notice that everything was made ready for him but he did not know it. So, he toiled all night and caught nothing. He went in the night which was the right time for fishing. He had the right tools- his nets and boat. He was not a novice at fishing. He went with the right kind of partners; yet, he caught nothing!  And here comes Jesus in the morning saying, “give me your boat so that I can preach the Word.” Peter, being a fisherman and the owner of the boat, moved the boat out a little from the land and sat down. He was no more fishing. He sat down and rested.

Beloved, all things are ready when the Master is there. You do not toil! That is the secret to all things, including ministry. If you learn to rest in His Word, you will never run dry. Take time to sit at His feet, learn from Him and see God come through for you.

When Peter released his boat, listened to the Word and obeyed the instruction, in the same place where they said there was no fish, there was miraculous abundance. Why? Peter rested in what had been finished! He rested in what had been prepared by the Word of God.

I declare over your life that as you rest in His word and obey Him, what you have desired, that has delayed and become an impossibility in your life will become a possibility. Whatever has given you sleepless nights, by the mandate of heaven and by the power in the name of Jesus, I declare that it is over. You will succeed! No power will stop your progress!  Evil will bow before you and covenant shall speak for you.
