Restoring the senses
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” – EPHESIANS 5:1-20

One of the symptoms of Covid-19 is the loss of smell and taste, while one of the means of prevention is social distancing and isolation. This one virus has affected three of our senses – smell, taste and touch. This is therefore an opportune time for believers to help restore these senses.
Jesus tells us we are the salt of the earth that adds savor and taste to the world. Also, we are covered with the sweet aroma of Jesus that is fragrant not only to those around us, but to God Himself. And, as members of His body, we are called to do works of care and kindness, which allow others to feel His loving touch. So as we get to work restoring the senses, let’s not forget about the other two, because everyone we meet needs to see the light of Christ and hear the truth of His Word!
