RETURN AND GIVE THANKS ABUNDANTLY

Luke 17:15-19

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Though Jesus did the same thing for the ten lepers, He did not get the same response from all of them. One of them distinguished himself. He returned back to Jesus and with a ‘loud voice,’ he glorified God. He fell face down at the feet of Jesus and gave thanks. It appeared that what Jesus did for him meant more to him than it meant to the other nine.

The first thing Jesus said to him was, “where are the other nine?” Jesus was expecting them to come back and give thanks. Apparently, the other nine were Jews and they may have had an entitlement mentality. They must have felt it was their right to be healed so there was no need to go back and give thanks to Jesus. By not returning to give thanks, they missed out on the next thing that Jesus wanted to give them. The other nine were healed but the one who came back to give thanks was made whole.

Beloved, whatever is stopping you from having a thankful attitude is actually robbing you of certain increase that God wants to bring into your life. Like the man who came back to give thanks, God wants you to return to Him and give Him thanks abundantly. Distinguish yourself today by your thanksgiving attitude. Glorify God with a loud voice. Sing, dance, shout, testify, give, rejoice and celebrate the grace and the mercies and the goodness of God in your life.

Thanksgiving Guide:
Think about the numerous things that God did in your life and family and express to God how much they mean to you.
