Revelation Light and the Glory of God

Ephesians 1:16-19a (GNB)
I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I remember you in my prayers and ask the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you the Spirit, who will make you wise and reveal God to you, so that you will know him. I ask that your minds may be opened to see his light, so that you will know what is the hope to which he has called you, how rich are the wonderful blessings he promises his people, and how very great is his power at work in us who believe.

One thing that we need in abundance as believers in Christ Jesus is the light of the revelation of God’s word. The amount of God’s glory and fullness that we walk in is directly proportional to the amount of revelation light that we have received from God. Revelation light is one of the greatest things that God wants to give to us. In fact, He wants to flood our hearts with it. As we receive revelation light, our eyes are opened to our glorious realities in God. They are opened to see Jesus and the wonderful things that He has done for us. Our perspective and consciousness are changed. We receive this revelation light as the word of God enters us (Psa.119:130).

In 2 Corinthians 4:6 (AMP), the Bible says “For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” The Contemporary English Version says “God commanded light to shine in the dark.” Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ.

We should desire revelation light more than anything. We need to pray more for the revelation light that comes from God’s word and we need to give ourselves more to the study of God’s word as we rely on the Holy Spirit. It is by this light that we know God more and it is by this light we know the hope to which God has called us, the wonderful blessings God has made available to us and God’s mighty power that is at work within us.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please fill my heart with revelation light as I dill my heart with the revelation of Christ.
