“But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” – 1 THESSALONIANS 5:21-22

Imagine a high mountain road with dangerous curves and rocks. The highway department can do one of two things. They can put a hospital at the bottom of the mountain where they can treat people who have wrecks on the road. Or they can put up signs along the dangerous passage, such as “slow down,” or “watch for falling rocks,” or “sharp curve ahead.” And hopefully people will heed these warnings and avoid an accident. God has put up warning signs throughout the Bible.

Because He loves us, God will minister to us with His grace when we crash because we ignored the signs. But how much better to heed the signs that say “no” or “stop” or “dead end street.” We can find these signs all through the Bible – from the 10 Commandments all the way to the admonitions in Revelation.
