… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God …
We all suffer from a common condition, are afflicted with the same problem. That sickness is called sin.
We were born with this condition, and we will struggle with it until we breathe our last. Some choose to deny or dismiss it, but that does not liberate us from its consequences. This sin condition is a matter of life and death.
Humanity has been bound in its chains since Adam and Eve. No apology excuses it. No vaccine eradicates it. No amount of money buys a pardon. No natural cure exists.
Sin is pandemic; every nation labors under its control. It sends soldiers off to war, overruns our prisons with offenders, fills up our morgues, saturates our headlines, numbs our senses, and deadens souls.
Every one of us has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Not one of us lives up to His expectations, His glorious standard, and the beautiful plans that He has for us. He knew that we were dead in our trespasses (Ephesians 2:1).
In His great love, God sent us the Cure for this life-and-death matter of sin. He sent His only Son to pay the price for our sin and to bring us from death back to life. Oh, what a Savior!
Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May our Blessed Redeemer, Jesus Christ, wrap His arms around you to pull you ever closer to the cross. May you experience the love of the One Who laid down His life for you. Amen.
