Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us

Paul assured the Romans that “…we know that all things work together for good to those who love God…” (Romans 8:28). Even as he penned those words, Paul understood the pressures and pains of this life.

He had been whipped, beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, hungry, naked, and cold – all for the sake of the Gospel (II Corinthians 11:23-28). He was not suggesting those things were good.

He was declaring that when we look at adversity through the lens of God’s goodness, it shapes and molds us. We see struggles as a season to gain strength. Rock-solid confidence pours into our souls that God is on His throne, and everything will work out for the best. We make the determination to rejoice in the day that God has made, to be glad right now (Psalm 118:24).

The coronavirus pandemic is not good. The disruptions and financial hardship it has caused are not good. However, we have a God Who is greater than this virus and the chaos it has created. Even in situations that Satan intends for evil, God will redeem them to bring about His good purposes.

He has caused us to be more than conquerors! As the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write these words, his heart must have been singing as he smiled ear to ear. Determine to rejoice alongside him today!

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the uncontainable joy of the Lord be your strength. He has made you more than a conqueror today and every day.
