Rome Is Not Heaven

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'”

John 14:6

Most of us have heard the idiom “All roads lead to Rome,” meaning there are many different ways to get to the same destination. I’ve discovered that’s not really true, not only on roads, but also in life. And it’s especially not true when it comes to our eternal destination.

When Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” He is not saying, “I’m one of many ways.” He is saying “I am the one and only way.” Also, He is not just a teacher of truth, He is truth personified. And He is not merely “a life” – He is the giver of life – abundant life. So if you want a relationship with God and an eternal home in Heaven, make sure you are on the “one way” road with Jesus. He’s the only road that leads to God
