“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust!” – PSALM 91:1-2

In times of trouble, we all want a safe and secure place. Psalm 91 assures us that such a place exists and is available to those who trust in God.

A look at the four names of God used in our verses helps us better understand this powerful security.

The “Most High” is El Elyon, the God who possesses everything.

“The Almighty” is El Shaddai, the God who provides all things.

“The Lord” is Jehovah, the God of promise.

And “my God” is Elohim, the God of all power.

So, when trouble comes, run to the shelter of God. It’s the most secure place you can be.
