SEE PEOPLE WITH THE EYES OF GOD’S LOVE

Mark 10:20-21 (NLT), Mark 6:4 (TPT) “Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.” Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”*By the time Jesus came ashore, a massive crowd was waiting. At the sight of them, his heart was filled with compassion, because they seemed like wandering sheep who had no shepherd. So he taught them many things.

A blind man came to Jesus in Mark 8:22-26 and after the first touch Jesus gave him, he said he was seeing men as trees. Gracefully, Jesus touched him again and he began to see people clearly. The way you see people will affect the way you will treat them. When you see people as trees, you will treat them as trees. You will always want to either pluck something from them or cut them down if you don’t like them or so that you can use them for one purpose or the other.

The way you treat people and relate with them is a function of the way you see people. Until you see people the way God sees them, you cannot treat them the way God would treat them. God wants you to see people with the eyes of His love. Do not just see people in the flesh or by who they are in the physical, (2Cor.5:16). See who they are in their spirit and in their souls. Man looks at the outward, but God looks at the inward (1Sam.16:7)

There are two types of people on the earth. Those in Christ and those who are not in Christ. Those who are saved and those who are lost. See those in Christ as fellow members of God’s family and see those who are not in Christ as God’s harvest that need to be brought into God’s family. See them as people who need a Saviour. See them as people Jesus died and gave His life for. Do not hate and despise them. You should hate what they do (sin), but you should love them and desire their salvation. Our texts above show us how Jesus saw and loved people with the heart of compassion and this moved Him to reveal God’s truth to them.
As God helps you to see people the way He sees them, His love will flow out from you to touch and bless them.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to see people with the eyes of your love and let your love flow out from me to touch and bless them.
