SEE THE ONE THAT SEES YOU

4th January 2024

Scripture Reading: GENESIS 16: 1-15

Focus

“She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”” (Genesis 16: 13 NIV)

In our Focal Scripture, Hagar declared that the Lord is the God that sees her; and she also declared that she has seen the One who sees her. So it was not only the Lord that saw Hagar; Hagar also saw the One who sees her. The eyes of the Lord were on Hagar, and the eyes of Hagar were on the Lord. The eyes of the Lord were open to see Hagar; the eyes of Hagar were also open to see the Lord. Hagar had her eyes on the One who sees her.

Friend, in 2024, as you seek that the eyes of the Lord be fixated on you, also strive to have your own eyes fixated on the Lord. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Keep your eyes on the word of the Lord. Keep your eyes on the promises of God. Keep your gaze on the face of Jesus. Focus on God the same way you want Him to focus on you. Give priority to God the same way you want to be His priority. Dare to see the God that sees you.

In 2024, seek the face of the Lord more than you have ever done in time past. In 2024, be intentional to keep your gaze on the Lord. You may be surrounded by several issues seeking to distract your eyes from the Lord, but dare to keep your eyes on the Lord. Even in the wilderness, keep your eyes on the Lord. Even in the midst of battles, keep your eyes on the one who ensures your victory. Let your eyes be perpetually on El Roi.

This is not that year where you want the eyes of the Lord to be on you, yet your own eyes will be everywhere but on the Lord. This is not that year where the eyes of the Lord will be on you and you simply proceed like one who has no eyes to put on the Lord. Dare to see the Lord in all you do. See His favours towards you. See Him in both the big and small miracles that come your way. See the Lord in all your seeing.

Remember, El Roi was the One who first saw Hagar, but Hagar also saw the One who sees her. It’s not enough to be seen by El Roi; be intentional to also see the God that sees you.

Declaration

In 2024, I choose see the God who sees me; my eyes are fixated on the Lord, in Jesus’ name!
