Memorise: “And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand?” – Exodus 4:2a.
Read: 2 Kings 4:1-7
- Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
- And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
- Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
- And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
- So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
- And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
- Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

MESSAGE:
There has never been a generation with access to opportunities like yours. There are so many assets around you that can change your life for the better if only you recognise them. With your mobile phone alone, you can contact a great number of people. You can also get relevant information that will help you in school or help put your talent to good use. Instead of these however, many would rather send insulting messages with their phones or simply use it to chat all day. I hope you can begin to use your phone as an asset rather than a distraction from great success.
The mobile phone is one common asset that you have, however, there are other assets unique to each teenager, you need God to show yours to you. It could be some thing in the street where you live or maybe even within your compound. It could be a talent that you have that you have taken for granted. If you are in constant communication with God, He will show you that great asset within your reach that will make you to be celebrated around the world.
Prayer Point:
Ask God to open your eyes to see the assets you have and how they can be used for great things.
Hymn 2:
1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4 But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
