I recently saw an ad about a special monitor you can get to give yourself an EKG and see the results on your smartphone. But unless you’re trained to read an EKG, your self exam could miss a “fatal flaw.” Although it looks good to you, your EKG reading may contain danger signals you cannot recognize or understand.

Our scripture tells us God knows that our hearts are deceitful and sick, and that only He can do a life-saving heart exam. Are you willing to submit to God’s EKG? If so, spend time in prayer submitting your motives and the intentions of your heart to God. He will examine them and let you know His diagnosis. And best of all, He will cleanse you and create in you a new heart.
