SENT AS CHRIST
John 20:21, Acts 3:4-6
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. *And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
God has sent us into the world as He sent Christ and He has empowered us to live and function like Christ. For us to live and function as Christ, we must start seeing ourselves as Christ sees Himself. We are one with Him in the spirit, (1Cor.6:17) and as He is, so are we in this world, (1John 4:17). When you see yourself as one with Christ in the spirit, you are walking in the Spirit.
Walking in the Spirit does not only make you grow spiritually and manifest the fruit of the Spirit, it also helps you master and manifest the gifts of the Spirit. To manifest the fullness of Christ, we must be ready to manifest both the fruit (Gal.5:22-23) and gifts of the Spirit, (1Cor.12:8-10). The gifts of the Spirit help us in serving and doing the work of God effectively.
When Peter met the lame man by the beautiful gate, he did not give him what he as a man would have ordinarily given to him. Peter gave him what Jesus would have given him. Peter healed the man in the name (authority) of Jesus. Jesus said in His name, signs and wonders will follow us and we shall do exploits, (Mark 16:17-18). Reach out to people and minister to them just as Christ would. Expect the love and power of God to manifest through you to bless lives, just as it would happen through Christ. You are His ambassador (2Cor.5:20) and you have been empowered by the Spirit to be His witness (Acts 1:8).
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for empowering me and sending me into the world as you sent Christ. Help me to manifest Christ’s fullness.
