In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart].— Psalm 5:3 (AMPC)
What was the first thing you said after getting up this morning? I believe we can prophesy (speak forth) and set the tone of the day by what we say at the beginning of it.
Maybe you said, “I’m tired, and I dread going to work.” Those kinds of words often come naturally, but you can decide to live supernaturally. You can talk as God would and say what He would say.
Can you honestly imagine God saying, “I’m afraid this is going to be a lousy day”? Of course not! He would say something awesome and positive, and we should too—“I have favor everywhere I go”; “Today is going to be an awesome day”; “I’m going to see the hand of God at work today!”
Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to begin my day with an attitude of praise— praying and listening for Your voice. In Jesus’ name, amen.
