Sleep well
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” – 1 JOHN 4:1100:0001:36
As he performed a delicate operation, a famous heart surgeon was being observed by several young doctors. After the surgery, one of these doctors asked the surgeon, “At the end of the operation, why did you tie three knots instead of just one as required and taught in medical school?” The surgeon replied, “Tonight, I will review the surgery in my mind, replaying each step of the procedure. And when I get to the end, I’ll remember that I tied the first knot, the second knot, and then a third knot. And that third knot is my ‘sleeping knot’ because it allows me to rest knowing that everything will stay in place.”
That’s an example of doing more than is expected or reasonably required, isn’t it? And guess what. When we apply that principle in our daily walk, we demonstrate that aggressive love, and that commitment to excellence and second-mile effort, that confirm to the world around us that we are on God’s team.
