Scripture Reading: Mark 3: 1-5
Focus
“And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.” (Mark 3: 3)
Before Jesus healed the man with the withered hand, He commanded the man to stand forth. He called the man out from the multitude that came to the temple. There was a community of people with negative intents in that synagogue, and Jesus first disconnected the man with withered hands from them before granting him a miracle. Jesus got that man to come out from amongst the multitude before making all things to work for him.
Friend, as you desire a year where all things are working for your good, dare to stand forth. Stand aside from the negativity in your environment. Stand aside from the negative influence of people around you. Stand aside from the negative patterns that your location has to offer. Stand aside from the negative habits that marred your past. Stand aside from ungodliness. Stand aside from the unfruitful works of darkness. Stand aside from sin.
Jesus was not about to pour fresh wine into an old wine skin. He was not about to do a new thing for a man stuck in his old ways. You may not walk into the new things that God has arranged for your life if you do not step aside from the old ways that kept you on the ground. You may not walk into your new season if you do not disconnect from the tokens of your old season. You may not walk into the new until you close the door of the old.
Today, make a commitment to walk away from everything that is abominable. Walk away from relationships that take you far away from where God is. Walk away from the negative connections that make a mess of your new season. Walk away from those things that God already warned you to walk away from. Do away with the people and places that keep you far away from your new season and next level.
Remember, that man did not receive wholeness until he stood out from the multitude. Stand forth, come out from amongst them and be separate.
