“On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.”
Esther 6:1 KJV
Mordecai always sat at the gate. Sitting is a position of rest! Sitting is the position of one who understands the Person whom he has believed. Sitting is the position of one who is fully persuaded. Sitting is the position of one who has the confident assurance that things will turn around. The hardest thing we believers find difficult to do is to stand still. We don’t know how to stand still. Until you learn to stand still, you cannot see the salvation of God. The salvation of God is there but you can’t see it until you stand still. Be still and know that I am God. Mordecai was standing still. The plot had been completed but he was standing still.
While Mordecai was resting, the Lord was troubling and stirring up the heart of the king because of Mordecai. He could not sleep throughout the night. His heart was stirred up to reward Mordecai. Whoever God has positioned as your strategic destiny helper, concerning your situation, will never sleep until that thing is done.
The next person that entered the palace was Haman. And he came around to obtain royal approval for the execution of Mordecai. But this time around, the table was turned. With his own mouth he pronounced the elevation of Mordecai. Haman made recommendation to the king concerning what was to be done for the person that was to be honoured, thinking he was the one. And when he was through, the king said, ‘go and look for Mordecai who sits at the gate and do all you have recommended to him.’ Whatever is molesting you is turning around. Nothing will steal your joy. You will not weep! You will not lament! The Lord will answer you. He will manifest Himself in your life speedily.
