Stay Awake!

“And this do, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.”

Romans 13:11

I remember a couple who used to sleep in church. He would go to sleep first, then she would fall asleep soon after. And they would kind of nod in rhythm, until one Sunday, they bumped heads – and it was a sight to behold! I have a surefire solution for anyone who tends to fall asleep in church. It’s pretty simple.

Start praying with the person who prays, singing with the person who sings, reading the Scripture, and getting involved in what’s happening in the service.  Tune in and say, “Lord God, speak to me. I need a word from You today.” Come to church with that kind of anticipation – and I guarantee God will speak to your heart every single time.
