Still small voice
“And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.” – 1 KINGS 19:1200:0001:16
Dramatic events such as an earthquake or a fire will get your attention, but they will seldom change your life. It is the Word of God that changes lives, and that word most often comes to us through a still small voice that calls us back to the center of God’s will.
When Elijah’s life bottomed out, God spoke to him in a whisper. So often God’s voice does not come to us through some phenomenal or supernatural event. He speaks through His Word. And when He speaks, it is in a whispered word to your heart, to your mind, and to your soul. Listen for God’s whispered voice. Listen for that still small voice as He calls you to Himself and as He speaks His Word to you
