STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD IN YOU

2Timothy 1:6-7 (NKJV), 1Peter 4:10 (KJV, GNB)

…I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you ..For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. *As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. *Each one, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God.

Just like the noble man who was travelling in Luke 19:12-17 and gave ten pounds to ten of his servants, asking them to occupy till he comes, God has given each and every one of us various gifts and abilities that He wants us to maximize and do exploits with before Jesus comes back. Like a steward, God expects you to be faithful with the stirring up and use of your gifts. Stop hiding your gifts. God does not want the abilities He has given you to remain at the same level at which He gave them to you. He wants you to
maximize and increase in them. You will give account to God for how you have stirred up and used the abilities He gave you and God will reward you for this.

You need to discover the gifts that God has given you, then you need to develop and stir them up and use them to bless lives and do exploits. You cannot fully discover your gifts when you are isolated from others. Gifts are discovered in the place of service. As you step out to show love, fellowship and serve others, your gifts will begin to flow out of you.

Develop your gifts by increasing in knowledge about them and by using them faithfully. When you are faithful with little, God will increase you. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Stop comparing yourself with others. Be faithful with what God has given you and it will grow.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to discover my gifts, develop them and use them faithfully to serve and bless others.
