STIRRING UP AND MANIFESTING THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
1Corinthians 12:1, 7, 31 (NKJV), 1Corinthians 14:1 (NLT)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.*Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy.
Every believer has been given spiritual gifts that are to be used to bless and benefit others. This is the purpose of spiritual gifts. Paul said, “For I am yearning to see you, that I may impart and share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen and establish you,” (Rom.1:11, AMPC). Spiritual gifts help us minister and do God’s work effectively and they glorify Christ, (Acts 3:12-13). They are gifts and not things we work or qualify for.
God wants us to desire the manifestation of spiritual gifts from our lives and He does not want us to be ignorant of spiritual gifts. Learn and study about them, (1Cor.12:8-10). To manifest spiritual gifts, you have to be more conscious of Christ than of yourself. Speak or do it as if it is Christ speaking or doing it and God will glorify Christ through you. Keep pressing into Christ and growing in the Spirit. Spiritual gifts work by the faith of Christ and not by your feelings or emotions. Don’t be afraid to fail or mistakes. Keep stirring it up. Don’t give up. A child learning to walk and is afraid to fall, will never walk.
Love is very important in stirring up and manifesting the gifts of the Spirit. Just let the love of God flow from your heart towards the person or people you are ministering to and the gifts of the Spirit will flow out of you to minister and bless their lives. Keep being filled with the Spirit.
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for the gifts of the Spirit that He has given you. Receive faith and boldness to keep stirring and manifesting them.
