STOP OBSERVING THE WIND

Ecclesiastes 11:4 & 6 (KJV, LB)

He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap. In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, … Or whether both alike will be good.If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. *Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow—perhaps it all will.

In our first text above, ‘observing the wind’ refers to making excuses for not doing what you are supposed to do, and ‘sowing’ refers to doing what is right or doing what God has asked you to do.

For some people, this wind can be their feelings or fleshly desires and for some others, it is the unfavourable response or attitude of people towards them. For some, it is the kind of environment they have found themselves. Do not let your immediate environment limit your passion and commitment to God or any other area of your life. God did not say we should obey Him or do His will only when the conditions are perfect. We are to obey God and do His will at all times (both good and trying times). God will never ask us to do something that He has not given us the grace to do. So stop giving excuses and stop allowing that ‘wind’ stop you from sowing. Psalms 126:6 (NLT) says, “They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.” Do not let your tears or any form of discomfort, stop you from sowing your seeds. Don’t lose your harvest.

Keep being prudent. Keep guarding your heart with all diligence. Keep praying and growing in your faith. Keep showing love. Keep living right. Keep preaching the Gospel. Keep being faithful in all you do.
