Stretch Your Faith and Vision
Isaiah 54:2-3 (NIV) “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.
Genesis 13:14-15 (AMP) The Lord said to Abram, … “Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are standing, northward and southward and eastward and eastward; for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants forever.
Abraham and Sarah laughed when God told them He was going to give them a child in their old age (Gen. 17:17, Gen. 18:13). You may laugh when you first hear the great things God intends to manifest in your life. Our faith and vision determine our capacity to receive the things God wants to bring into our lives. God promised to give Abraham and his descendants as far as his eyes could see. Many Israelites did not enter the Promised Land, not because God could not bring them in but because they did not believe that God could bring them in.
When Mary initially heard that she would divinely carry and give birth to Jesus, she was skeptical and she said, “How shall this be seeing I know not a man?” The Angel then told her that the power of the Holy Ghost would overshadow her and she later said, “Be it unto me according to your word,” Luke 1:34-38. Her faith was eventually stretched.
I pray for you that as God’s word comes to you by His Spirit, you will yield yourself to Him and stretch your faith and vision to receive all that God has in store for you. Lift up your eyes! The harvest is plenty, Matt. 9:37. Think globally. Jesus sends us to go into the entire world and preach the gospel, Mark 16:15. Fill yourself with the revelation of the love and grace of God in Christ Jesus, Col. 3:16. See yourself manifesting the fullness of Christ and doing greater works, John 14:12. God wants to reveal deep things to you, 1 Cor. 2:9-10. Lift up your eyes and see from Heaven’s perspective. Enlarge your capacity and prepare yourself for the great expansion and increase that God is set to bring to your life. Do not only see yourself being blessed; see yourself being a blessing. Our first text above says, ‘do not hold back’. Do not hesitate. Step up in faith and in alignment with God’s word for you.
Prayer:
I yield myself to the leading of Your word and Spirit, dear Lord. I am ready to receive the bigger and greater things that you have in store for me.
