Memorise: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

BIBLE READING: Galatians 6:7-8

  1. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
  2. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Bible Reading In One Year: Proverbs 30-31; 2 Corinthians 8:1-24

MESSAGE:

When God’s government takes over the life of a sinner, the old government through the body will want to fight it. The body at this time becomes an enemy of the spirit which just got a new leader. But the battle can be won by continuous feeding of the spirit. Your spirit should constantly relate with the Holy Spirit by receiving instructions which you should pass down to your body and soul. So the more you commune with the Holy Spirit, the more you subdue your flesh.

Galatians 5:16-24 lists the enemy and friends of the spirit. The enemies are called the works of flesh while the friends are called the fruit of the Spirit. To please God, you should allow the friends to operate rather than the enemies.

Today’s Bible reading also tells us that one can sow in the flesh and in the spirit. So what a fellow reaps depends on what he has sown. Every time you commit a sin you are sowing to the flesh. It is therefore better to sow to the spirit. A fellow can sow to the spirit by worshipping God, praying especially in the Holy Ghost, studying God’s word, witnessing Jesus to others and giving to the poor. When you do all these, the flesh will be subdued.

Prayer Point:

Father, please help me to constantly win the battle against flesh in Jesus name.

Hymn: Take My Life, And Let It Be

  1. Take my life and let it be
    Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
    Take my moments and my days,
    Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
  2. Take my hands and let them move
    At the impulse of Thy love;
    Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for Thee.
  3. Take my voice and let me sing
    Always, only for my King;
    Take my lips and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee.
  4. Take my silver and my gold
    Not a mite would I withhold;
    Take my intellect and use
    Every power as Thou shalt choose.
  5. Take my will and make it
    Thine It shall be no longer mine;
    Take my heart, it is Thine own
    It shall be Thy royal throne.
  6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
    At Thy feet its treasure store.
    Take myself and I will be
    Ever, only, all for Thee.
