SURELY

Psalms 23:6, Psalms 91:3, Proverbs 23:18

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. *Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. *For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

The word of God is filled with so many assurances from God to us. Sadly, many believers are not aware or conscious of these assurances. God wants us to be sure about everything He has assured us of. God wants us to stop taking His assurances to us as probabilities. “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numb. 23:19). God wants you to take every ‘surely’ He has said to you in His word as sure; especially in the face of challenges and uncertainties.

Here are some more of such assurances: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed, (Isa.53:4-5). Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake, (Isa.54:15) For when God made a promise to Abaham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise, (Heb.6:13-15)
