Memorise: Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12
READ: 1 Corinthians 10:11-13
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 6-7; Luke 23:27-38
MESSAGE:
One factor that is responsible for the down fall of many Christians is over confidence. Some Christians believe that they cannot fall because they have been Christians for long. But when such fellows eventually fall, they then realise that no one is above the possibility of falling.
If you do things that will make you fall, you will fall. For instance, if you look at people’s naked pictures and brag that you are so filled with the Holy Spirit and it doesn’t move you, you are at the verge of falling. If you stay in a lonely place with someone of the opposite sex and claim that nothing can happen, the devil is already about to get you. You must flee every appearance of evil. Don’t wait until it is evil before you flee, flee when it is appearing like evil. The devil knows that if drops of water keep falling on a spot on a rock, no matter how strong that rock is, it will soon give way. You may not fall on the first attempt, but what the devil wants is that you stop fleeing, then it is only a matter of time before you fall. Don’t stay anywhere close to sin, flee!
Key Point:
Since you will not eat poison, don’t sniff it at all. Sniffing and smelling it can only lead to danger.
Hymn 7:
1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.
2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and them be
Swift and beautiful for thee
3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.
4.Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.
5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
