Memorise: “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.” Psalm 119:1

Bible Reading: Psalms 119:1-8

1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

Bible Reading In One Year: Jeremiah 25-26; 2 Timothy 3:1-17

MESSAGE:

Four Hebrew boys – Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego, became Jewish slaves in Babylon. In those days, Babylon was the headquarters of idolatry and immorality. Daniel and the boys however, purposed not defile themselves with the Kings meat. One of the reasons the boys stood out was that they were determined to be wholly dedicated to God. No amount or degree of pressure from the other Jews, officials of the King, or the King himself could make them change their minds. For this reason, God made them very sound intellectually that other students could not catch up with them.

Another lesson that can be learnt from their story is that the degree to which you stand for God will determine the measure of multiplication of wisdom He will release to you. God gave the boys more fame, wisdom and understanding of deep things because they refused to bow to pressure. I know that as a teenager, there are pressures to become worldly in your dressing, involve in shady deals date a boy/girl or sugar daddy who will spoil you with gifts etc. This is not the kind of life God wants for you. Please stand out for Him like the Hebrew boys did and He will lift you up.

Key Point:

When you stand against evil, Heaven will stand by you. Don’t succumb to peer pressure

Hymn: Is Your Life A Channel Of Blessing?

  1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
    Is the love of God flowing through you?
    Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
    Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

  1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
    Are you burdened for those that are lost?
    Have you urged upon those who are straying
    The Savior who does on the cross
  2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
    Is it a daily telling for Him?
    Have you spoken the word of salvation?
    To those who are dying in sin?
  3. We cannot be channels of blessing
    If our lives are not free from sin;
    We will barriers be and a hindrance
    To those we are trying to win.
