Psalm 23:1 (NLT) The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
Psalm 23:1 (NIV) The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
Psalm 27:1 (KJV) The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1 (LB) The Lord is my light and my salvation; he protects me from danger – whom shall I fear?
Psalm 84:11-12 (NKJV) For the Lord God is my sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!
It is really amazing how the Psalms in our text above describe God as shepherd, light, salvation, strength, sun and shield? Like we studied yesterday, when you make God your portion, He becomes everything to you. I believe that in this season, God is bringing you into a new dimension of his sufficiency; where He will be your all in all indeed in every area of your life.
Because the Israelites made God their portion, they experienced unbelievable miracles and provisions while they were in the wilderness, Neh. 9:20-21. Despite the fact that they ate the same meal daily, they continued to grow strong and healthy. God Himself supplied every nutrient they needed and every other need they had. Because Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego made God their portion by simply eating vegetables and drinking water, they ended up looking fresher and healthier and even had sounder minds than those who were feasting on the king’s delicacies, Dan. 1:12-15.
Because the Israelites made God their portion, the walls of Jericho fell down as they simply marched around the walls and shouted in praise unto God as God directed, Josh. 6:20. With little effort, they experienced great and unbelievable results. It is because David made God His portion that his single smooth stone hit Goliath in the forehead and killed him instantly, 1 Sam. 17:49. Have you made God your portion in every area of your life? As you do, I see you experiencing God’s supernatural wisdom, manifestations and divine sustenance in every area of your life. You shall lack nothing. You shall do what others call impossible and your life shall be a wonder to many.
Prayer:
I declare that You are my everything, O Lord and you are my portion. I thank you for your great abundance and sufficiency that abound in my life.
