THANK GOD FOR YOUR ABUNDANT INHERITANCE IN HIM

Colossians 1:12 (GNB, NLT, LB)

…with joy give thanks to the Father, who…made you fit to have your share of what God…reserved for his people in the kingdom of light. *always thanking the Father. He…enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.…always thankful to the Father who…made us fit to share all the wonderful things that belong to those who live in the Kingdom of light.

If you know the kind of glorious and abundant inheritance God has provided for you as His child, you will always rejoice and give God thanks for it and you will always have faith, boldness and victory.

There is a portion of our inheritance set aside in Heaven for us (1Pet.1:4 – the fullness of Christ and our changed bodies). Inside us is a portion of our inheritance (Eph.1:18, Col.2:9-10 – the gifts/abilities, fullness (Isa.11:2-3), and fruit of the Spirit). And there is a physical component to our inheritance (Isa.55:10-11 – the manifestation of God’s word and promises to us). Keep in mind that an inheritance is not something you earned or paid for. It is something that someone else paid for and worked for, but you received it or had it bestowed upon you because of your relationship with the person who paid for or worked for it.

Before a person can access his or her inheritance, he or she must reach a certain level of maturity. This is what Christ’s revelation and grace do for us. It strengthens us and gives us access to the inheritance God has given us in Christ (Acts 20:32). You are co-heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:17). This means you have the same right as Jesus to enjoy God’s abundance and blessings.

Prayer:
I rejoice and thank you, Father, for the abundant inheritance you’ve bestowed on me. May your word come true in my life right now.
