THANKSGIVING AND YOUR FAITH

Romans 4:20 (KJV, AMPC), 1Samuel 17:37

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God *No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise andglory to God, *David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

Many believers do not understand that when they engage in thanksgiving a lot, it actually benefits them much more than they realise. God will not punish you for not giving Him thanks, but there are many great and wonderful blessings that you may deny yourself of when you refuse to give thanks and develop and attitude of thanksgiving. It is because of these great and wonderful blessings and benefits that God wants us to give Him thanks always, in all things and for all things.

One of the major benefits of thanksgiving is that it strengthens your faith. It makes you conscious of God’s faithfulness and it gives you a victorious and positive outlook and attitude to life and your challenges. In our text above, we see that Abraham grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God. The Bible also says, “And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise,” (Heb.11:11, NIV). Sarah’s consciousness of God’s faithfulness strengthened her faith and she was divinely enabled to experience a supernatural manifestation of God’s power in her life.

While worrying and murmuring can weaken your faith, praise and thanksgiving can strengthen your faith. May your faith be strengthened today like never before. David had faith to face Goliath because he remembered how God helped him defeat the lion and the bear. As you praise and thank God for His faithfulness, your faith will be strengthened and you will experience the miraculous power of God both in and through your life.

Thanksgiving Guide:
You are great and faithful my dear God and Father! I thank and I worship you for in my life, nothing is impossible with you.
