That Same Spirit and Power
Romans 8:11(NLT), Ephesians 1:18-20 (NIV)
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. * I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know … his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms
So many of us believers do not really know the kind of Spirit and Power that we have. Some days ago, we studied about how God took the Spirit of Leadership that was on Moses and put it upon seventy leaders so they could join Moses on leading the people of Israel. Now, do you know that God has also taken the same Spirit and Power that He anointed Jesus Christ with and He has poured it upon us? He did this so that we can join Jesus to fulfil His purpose on the earth!
In John 20:21-22, Jesus said to His disciples, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Ghost.” In John 14:12, Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Now what was Jesus going to the Father? So that the Father can send us the Holy Spirit! In John 16:7 (CEV) Jesus said, “But I tell you that I am going to do what is best for you. That is why I am going away. The Holy Spirit cannot come to help you until I leave. But after I am gone, I will send the Spirit to you.” The Spirit and the power of God upon your life is not in any way inferior or less in value to that which is upon Jesus. It is exactly the same, (Acts 10:28). The anointing flows from the head down to the body, (Psa.133:2). Jesus is the Head and we are the Body. It is the very same anointing that is on Jesus that is upon us! This means that we can have the same kind of impact and results that Jesus can have in every area of our lives. All that we need is for our eyes to be opened more and more to this truth. This is one of the things that the Holy Spirit does for us as we focus on the revelation of Christ.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for anointing me with the same Spirit and Power of Jesus. Open my eyes more and more to this truth.
