That Settles It!

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:9-10

People often ask me how they can know for sure they are a Christian. I usually reply to their question with a few of my own. For example, is there a time you confessed your sin to God and turned away from that sin, asking Christ to be your Lord and Savior? Is the presence of the Holy Spirit evident in your life? In other words, are you becoming more like Christ, allowing others to see Him in you? Do you profess to others that you are His follower?

Our answers to these questions are indications of our salvation. So let me encourage you to answer these questions for yourself. Then make a fresh commitment to Christ. And, as our scripture says, confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord.
