The Advantage of Divine Guidance
Jeremiah 33:3 (GNB ), Psalms 32:8 (KJV, GNB), Isaiah 48:17 (NIV)
“Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvellous things that you know nothing about. *I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. *The LORD says, “I will teach you the way you should go; I will instruct you and advise you. *This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
Another major thing that produces confidence in us as we pray is the depth of our consciousness of how much God loves us. Our prayers are directed to our Father (Matt.6:9); who loves us very dearly and tenderly. He loves us a million times better than any good, earthly parent can ever love their children. The Bible implores us to “Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock. Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread? Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? Bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matt.7:7-11).
God the Father loves us the very same way that He loves Jesus (John 17:23). This means that He will listen to us and respond to us when we pray, the very same way He will respond to Jesus. When you discover what God’s will is for you in Christ do not pray about it as if God does not want to give it to you. On the contrary, God wants to give it to you abundantly. He takes pleasure in answering our prayer. God gets joy and glory for answering our prayers (John 15:7-8). As you grow in your understanding of God’s great love you, it will increase your confidence in prayers, it will fill you with God’s fullness (Eph.3:19). Our faith is energized by the love of God. The Holy Spirit fills our hearts with God’s love. Romans 5:5 (GNB) says, “This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us.”
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for how much He loves you and for His willingness to reveal things to you. Ask Him for His wisdom and guidance for your life.
