THE EARTH BELONGS TO US

“The heaven, even the heavens are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” Psalm 115:16 KJVGod made the heaven of heavens for himself and the earth had he given to the children of men. In other words, God says I am in charge in heaven but I am going to make a place called earth and I will give that earth to man. So whenever God wants to do something here on earth, He will always send a man, because of the way He has set things and has made this earth a material world. In Genesis 1:26-27, after God had put everything in place, He said: “…. Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have that dominion….. So, God created man in His own image…male and female created he them”.And He gave man dominion. “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion ….” (Genesis 1:28).Since man was made in the image of God, that means that man is a spirit just like God is a Spirit. However, man was packaged in such a way that will enable him to function in the material world. God took the dust of the earth and formed man, giving man his material body.  God now breathed on him and the scripture says man became a living soul.So let me put it this way. God said okay, man you cannot go to the earth unless you have a physical body. Since I had made the earth as a material earth and heaven for spiritual things, I am not going to send you with a spirit body. You must have a material body otherwise you cannot function effectively on earth. So, what did he do? He said, I’m going to make a suit for you. An earthly suit that will be suitable for you to function here. That is why God gave man a body. Your body is your suit. It is not you.  That is why the moment the  spirit departs the body, it dies. Man is a spirit, he has a soul and it lives inside a body.Further Reading: Genesis 1:26-31, Psalm 8:1-9Daily Bible Reading: Morning- Ezekiel 33-34; Evening- 1 Peter 5
