THE FRUITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Proverbs 11:30, John 15:5, 2Corinthians 9:10 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. *I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. *Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness

When you put your faith in Christ and God gave you the gift of His righteousness, God imparted His righteous nature into you. This righteous nature is stronger than the nature you had before and the more you are conscious of it, the more it will overflow and bear fruits in your life. One major fruit it will produce in you is the life of Christ. By your faith in Christ, you are now a branch of the tree of Christ. You abide in Him and His life flows through you. This makes you produce His fruit. The major proof that we are abiding in Christ is that we are living like Him, (1John 2:6). As you continue to yield to the leading of the Spirit of God in you, your life will bear the fruit of the Spirit, (Gal.5:22-23a). Ephesians 5:9 says, “(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth)”

Love is a major fruit of God’s righteous nature in you. God is love and when we know (have a relationship with) Him we will manifest His love, (1 John 4:8). When Paul spoke about fruits of righteousness in our last text above, he was referring to believers giving to meet the needs of other believers. They did this in response to the revelation of God’s grace (2Cor.8:1). The major fruit Jesus was referring to in John 15 was love (vs. 9, 12 & 17). Another major fruit of righteousness is preaching the Gospel and turning many to righteousness, (Dan.12:3).

Faith Declaration:

By God’s life in me, I manifest the life of Christ and walk in love. I preach the Gospel and turn many to righteousness.
