THE GOD-KIND OF LEADER
Isaiah 42:1-4 (GNB)
The LORD says, “Here is my servant, whom I strengthen—the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation. He will not shout or raise his voice.. He will not break off a bent reed nor put out a flickering lamp. He will bring lasting justice to all. He will not lose hope or courage;… Distant lands eagerly wait for his teaching.”
Jesus is the model of the God-kind of leader. In our text above, Isaiah is speaking prophetically about Jesus, who was yet to come, but who God was sending to carry out His divine will and purpose on the earth.
The God-kind of leaders are servants. They serve faithfully and are humble, committed and exemplary in their service. They are strengthened and upheld by God and they are always conscious of being chosen and sent by God. God is pleased with them and they always seek and desire to please God. They are filled with God’s Spirit and they are continually led and empowered by the Spirit to please God and do exploits. The Godkind of leader practises justice and uphold integrity. They do what is right and they treat all kinds of people fairly. They are not proud or indecent.
They do not crush and discourage people who are weak and trying to do what is right. They help, encourage and restore others. They raise mighty men and women out of seemingly beaten, battered and broken people. The God-kind of leader does not lose hope or courage. They persist and persevere until God’s will is done and His name is glorified. As a child of God, you are a God-kind of leader. You have the life of Christ in you and you have the ability to manifest all these attributes.
Action Point:
Declare you are a God-kind of leader. Pray for God to help you and other believers to manifest Christ’s leadership qualities.
