FRIDAY AUGUST 20
The ‘Good Soil’Heart
Matthew 13: 3, 8(TPT)
“Consider this: There was a farmer who went out to sow seeds. As he cast his seeds, some……. fell on good, rich soil that kept producing a good harvest. Some yielded thirty, some sixty, and some even one hundred times as much as he planted! *”As for the seed that fell upon good rich soil, it represents the hearts of people who hear and fully embrace the message of heaven’s kingdom realm. Their lives bear good fruit——some yield a harvest of thirty, sixty, even one hundred times as much as was sown.”
A good soil heart is one that can retain, understand and apply the word of God that it receives. The good soil heart is not excited about God’s word but is one that patiently allows it the access to take root. It is able to endure and yield to God wholeheartedly even in times of trials and challenges. The good soil heart is free from negative mindsets. It has been renewed by God’s word and the word of God is its final authority. This is why the word of God produces great fruit in such a believer’s life.
A good soil heart is not something that a believer can develop overnight. It is something that will require patience and consistency. It is something that is born out of focus and an understanding of its importance. Remain diligent and do not give up in your attempt to prepare and position your heart to allow God’s word to produce great fruit in your life. Also rely on the help of the Holy Spirit. He is your Helper. As you yield yourself to Him, He will cause you to retain, understand and apply God’s word even more. He will cause the word of God to maintain depth and to develop roots in your heart. The Holy Spirit will also help you endure and yield to God in trying times. He will help you identify and uproot negative mindsets.
Beloved, remember that there are different dimensions of productivity. If you are faithful with little, God will give you more. Our text above assures us that the good soil is a heart that hears and fully embraces God’s word. God’s word is your life. Continually fill yourself and give yourself more to it. Your fruitfulness and productivity will continue to grow and manifest.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask that by Your Spirit You help me fully embrace and yield myself to your word. Help me to have a good soil heart.
