THE GRACE TO REMAIN FAITHFUL

Proverbs 20:6 (NKJV), Luke 16:10-12
“Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, But who can find a faithful man? *He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the trueriches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?”

Faithfulness is the nature of God in us that causes us to demonstrate absolute loyalty and unwavering commitment both to God and to the people we serve or are connected to and the things we are engaged in. Faithful people pour out their whole selves into whatever they are doing. They don’t engage in eye service. They are loyal and committed both in the presence of people and in the absence of people, whether things are good or bad.

Great things are not committed into the hands of just anybody. Great things are committed into the hands of faithful men and women. Be diligent in what you are doing, (Prov.22:29). Stop practising eye service. It is God that is your rewarder and not man. God sees your heart and how exactly you are doing what you are doing. In Luke 19:17, the Bible says,“And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.” You don’t know the kind of lifting and promotion God has ahead of you. When David was faithfully taking care of his father’s sheep, he did not know that God was preparing him to be the king of Israel. When Joseph was being faithful in Potiphar’s house and in the prison, he did not know that God was preparing him to become the Prime Minister of Egypt.

On the day of accountability, will you be found faithful? In Psalms 12:1 (NIV), David cried out and said, “Help, LORD, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.” But just like God told Elisha in 1Kings 19:14-18, I know that God has many thousands that He has preserved of those who are still faithful and I believe that you are one of them.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the grace you have given me in Christ to be faithful to you, those I am connected to and the things I am engaged in.
