“Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion and righteous.”

Psalms 112:4

The Green Glow

We live in a world filled with darkness, and it’s easy to lose our way if we’re not careful. Jesus stated that He was the way to God the Father, so early in Christianity, His followers became known as “People of The Way.”

A friend once recounted his journey across the Atlantic, describing times of dense fog that hid the horizon by day and sent the whole world into total darkness by night. As he walked the ship one evening he noticed the soft green glow coming from the ship’s compass. With that glow came the assurance the helmsman would always know where to steer the ship, even when there was no sense of direction.

Good news! Jesus is still the way, and His directional light always “glows green” assuring that even in our darkest times, He will lead us safely to our destination.
