THE INCORRUPTIBLE GLORY OF CHRIST

1Peter 1:13-15 (NIV), 2Thessalonians 2:14

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sobber, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; *Whereunto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Bible, the word incorruptible refers to the inability of something to age, fade away or experience decay. For example, the Bible says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you,” (1Peter 1:23-25).

The glory of every other thing in this world is corruptible. They fade away and one day, they will completely pass away. God does not want your entire life to be focused on only acquiring the glory of things that will fade and pass away one day. God wants your life to be focused on attaining the glory of Christ which does not fade and will never pass away, (2Cor.3:18). The glory of Christ refers to His character, nature, attributes, abilities, beauty and desirable qualities.

The grace that will be brought to us when Christ returns, is the fullness of the glory of Christ. When Christ returns, we shall see Him and we shall be fully like Him even in our bodies. Allow this hope to motivate you to keep purifying yourself, (1John 3:3).

Prayer:
I thank you Father, for the fullness of the glory of Christ that I will receive when Christ returns. Help me to keep purifying myself
