THE JOY AND BLESSINGS OF FELLOWSHIP (2)

Psalms 122:1 (KJV, TPT), Psalms 16:11 (KJV, GNB)

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.*I was overjoyed when they said, “Let’s go up to the house of the Lord.” *Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. *You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.

Another reason many believers do not enjoy their fellowship with God, is because they only come to fellowship with God when they want something from God. There is nothing wrong with asking God for things, but this should not be the only reason why we want to fellowship with God. Will you like it if the only time your children spend time with you is when they want to ask you for things? God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Heb.11:6) and the greatest thing God wants to give us is more of Himself. This should be our greatest desire.

Even when asking God for things, some believers ask God like if He does not want to give them what they are asking for. They do this because they do not really know God and they are not conscious of how much God loves them. Jesus said, “If you, imperfect as you are, know how to lovingly take care of your children and give them what’s best, how much more ready is your heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask him?” (Matt.7:11, TPT).

Always come to fellowship with God with a consciousness of how much He loves you and how much He wants to reveal Himself to you. The more you know God and His love, the more your life will be filled with His fullness, (Eph.3:19).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please fill my heart the revelation of how much you love me and help me to draw nearer in fellowship with you.
