THE JOY OF GOD’S PRESENCE

2Samuel 6:13-15 (LB), Psalms 16:11 (GNB)

After the men…had gone six paces, they stopped…so that he could sacrifice an ox and a fat lamb. And David danced before the Lord with all his might and was wearing priests’ clothing. So Israel brought home the Ark of the Lord with much shouting and blowing of trumpets.*You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.

David was a man who was always excited about spending time in the presence of God, (Psa.122:1). When you understand the great love that God has for you, as well as His glory, power, blessings, wisdom and promises that are always available to you, it will affect the way you approach God and His presence to fellowship with Him. How do you feel when you have an opportunity to spend time with someone that loves you so dearly? That is how you should feel whenever you have an opportunity to fellowship with God.

God wants us to serve and fellowship with Him with great joy and gladness of heart, (Psa. 100:2). God wants us to always approach His throne of grace with boldness and with expectation of His abundant grace and mercy, (Heb.4:16). Be it your personal time of fellowship and prayer or a general or public fellowship.

As the ark of God was being brought into Israel, David danced before God with all his might. Everything David did for God was because of his love for God, which was fueled by his personal revelation of the love God had for him. Nobody forced him to do anything he did for God. Let the love of God make you do all you do for Him with all your might, (Luke 10:27). Always give God your best and expect His best.

Prayer:
I love you, Dear Father and I thank you, for your great love for me. I love spending time in fellowship with you. I give you my all, Lord.
