THE LAND SHALL BE HEALED

2Kings 2:19-22 (NIV)
The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the LORD says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

This year, I see God using you and me to bring about great healing into the respective environments that we find ourselves in. There are many individuals, organizations and even nations that have found themselves in the predicament stated in our text above. The land is beautiful, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive. It is like a paradox. On the outward, things look nice and rosy but on the inside, things are not just working and people are confused. There is a problem with the water or the raw materials or whatever resource is supposed to be providing nourishment and making the land productive, and it seems beyond repair.

What Elisha did with the salt in our text above, is what I see God doing through you and me. Elisha asked for salt to be put in a new bowl then he went to the source of the water and poured the salt there. He then declared God’s word of healing over the water and the water was no more bad and it stopped causing unproductivity.

We are God’s vessels and we are the salt of the earth. God is going to be pouring or positioning us as the main solution to all problems. We shall radiate the sweetness of God and declare the victory of God over the negative situations and bring permanent solutions into our environment. With our words and Christ-like characters, we will bring hope and healing into the lives of others. Our words shall always be with grace and seasoned with salt (Col.4:6). Our words will edify and minster grace to those who hear us, (Eph.4:29).

Prayer Focus:
Ask God to use you to bring healing into every environment you are in. Declare God’s word of healing over your environment now.
